SSC Junior Hindi Translator Eligibility Criteria: Staff Selection Commission conducts Junior Hindi Translators (in Subordinate Offices) and Hindi Pradhya Pak (Central Hindi Training Institute) etc. Examination. Candidates who wish to apply for this examination should meet the eligibility criteria as mentioned below….

SSC Junior Hindi Translator Eligibility:

1. Nationality/Citizenship: A candidate must be either:
(a) a citizen of India, or
(b) a subject of Nepal, or
(c) a subject of Bhutan, or
(d) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar),Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

2. Age Limit: 18 to 30 years as on 01.08.2023, i.e., candidates born not before 02.08.1993 and not later than
01.08.2005 are eligible to apply.

3. Educational Qualifications:

For Junior Translators (CSOLs):
Essential:
(I) (a) Master’s degree of a recognized University in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level;
OR
(b) Master‟s degree of a recognized University in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective
subject or as the mediumof examination at the degree level;
OR
(c) Master‟s degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with
Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of a
examination at the degree level;
or
(d) Master‟s degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with
English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of
examination at the degree level;

or

(e) Master‟s Degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English,
with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or either of the two as a medium
of examination and the other as a compulsoryor elective subject at degree level

and

(f) Recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English & vice
versaor two years‟ experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in
Central or State Government Office, including Government of IndiaUndertaking

(II) (a) Master‟s degree of a recognized University in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective
subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level;
or
(b) Master‟s degree of a recognized University in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective
subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level;
or
(c) Master‟s degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with
Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of
examination at the degree level;
or
(d) Master‟s degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with
English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of
examination at the degree level;
or
(e) Master‟s Degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English,
with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or either of the two as a medium
of examination and the other as a compulsoryor elective subject at degree level
and
(f) Recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English & vice
versa or three years‟ experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in
Central or State Government Office, including Government of IndiaUndertaking.
